Machine Setup: You’ll be responsible for setting up the CNC sliding head machine before starting production. This includes loading raw materials (often metal bars or rods) into the machine, securing them properly, and installing the necessary cutting tools.
Programming: While some operators may also handle programming tasks, often this is done by a CNC programmer. However, you should have a good understanding of the CNC program and be able to input it into the machine’s control panel. This involves understanding G-code or similar programming languages.
Operating the Machine: Once the machine is set up and programmed, you’ll start the operation. This involves monitoring the machine while it performs its automated turning operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
Troubleshooting: If issues arise during operation, such as tool breakage or deviations from specifications, you’ll troubleshoot these problems and make adjustments to the machine settings or program to correct them.
